Optimal SWIPT in RIS-Aided MIMO Networks

The use of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) is a key enabler achieving convenience prolonging the energy supply lifetime networks. To address low efficiencies far-field transfer, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) adopted to enhance harvesting (EH) performance, which can construct favorable propagation environment. In this paper, we consider an RIS-assisted SWIPT system with from access point (AP) multiple-antenna receivers, include receivers (IRs) (ERs). First, formulate problem maximizing minimum rates IRs as nonconvex constrained optimization problem. For ideal nonideal channels, propose two different solutions. Second, simplify objective function decompose into several subproblems by using sorting iterative algorithms. Moreover, under optimal boundary Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, successfully solve simulation results illustrate promising approach for communication comparing RIS unsatisfactory situations no cases various conditions.
